We curbed the wind to supply you with energy
At the end of 2006, the Laukžemė wind farm was built in the picturesque coastal region of Lithuania. It was established near Kretinga, Darbėnai eldership, Benaičiai village, where strong winds allow to produce clean, ecological and sustainable electricity. This wind farm was launched on March 17, 2007. Today it is one of the most modern and powerful wind farms in Lithuania.
44 million kWh of electric energy per year. This is the amount of energy produced by the Benaičiai wind farm with a capacity of 16 MW. Six advanced Vestas V100 2.75-3 MW wind turbines have been built here, ensuring the production of sustainable, high-quality and environmentally friendly electricity.
Inspired by success, UAB Renerga purposefully developed its activities and on December 29, 2010 established the second wind farm Benaičiai-1 in the same place. It far surpassed its predecessor, producing 86 million kWh of sustainable electricity. The power plant has a capacity of 34 MW and consists of seventeen modern Enercon-E82 2 MW wind turbines, each reaching 98 meters – a combined height of three nine-storey apartment buildings.
Benaičiai-1 is the largest facility of UAB Renerga, reducing the amount of CO2 emissions to the environment by almost 67 thousand tons a year. This amount of carbon dioxide is produced in the same period by about 15 thousand medium cars.
Water - for man and nature
The Strėva River, meandering through the picturesque districts of Trakai and Kaišiadorys, is one of the most important in the region. Therefore, the Pastrėvis Small Hydro Power Plant was built on the bank of this river in Kaišiadorys district, Bačkoniai village, in 1998.
It is the first 300 kW capacity hydro-power plant of UAB Renerga, producing 1.7 million kWh of sustainable electricity per year. The construction of this power plant also provided additional environmental benefits. Taking into account the recommendations of the landscape heritage protection specialists, UAB Renerga reinforced the slopes of the nearby mounds when building the Pastrėvys hydro power plant.
However, this was not the only investment in renewable and green hydro energy. In 2002, near the town of Kavarskas, Anykščiai district, Vilkatėnai village, on the bank of one of the most important rivers of the Aukštaitija region – the Šventoji River, Kavarskas small hydr power plant was built.
It is a fully automated, one of the most modern power plants of this type currently operating in Lithuania. Its capacity is 1 MW, the small hydropower plant produces 6.5 million kWh per year of sustainable electric energy.
The construction of this facility was carried out in strict compliance with environmental standards. In consultation with experts from France, UAB Renerga installed a special fish passage during the construction of the Kavarskas hydro power plant. Its cost was 12 percent of the total value of the power plant installation works. However, these investments are not measured in financial terms, as the project has provided enormous benefits to nature. With the installation of the fish pass, a spawning ground that was cut 50 years ago, was reopened. It allows the spawning fish successfully reach upstream of the Šventoji river.
We use the sun for a brighter future
The Lithuanian coastal region is rich not only in gusty winds. Here there are the most sunny days in the country a year. Therefore, in 2013, the Benačiai solar power plant was built in Benaičiai, where the wind turbines of UAB Renerga are located.
Its capacity is 1 MW. This power plant is innovative and sustainable, using constantly renewable solar resources to generate green electricity. The polycrystalline modules were supplied by the German manufacturer Schott Solar AG and the inverters – by Kaco new energy.
Benačiai solar power plant produces 1 mln. kWh of sustainable electricity that could supply over 430 average households.
We charge energy for hassle-free travel
It is perfectly understandable that future trips will only take place at the wheel of an electric car. Not in vain on September 22, 2017 UAB Renerga has expanded its areas of activity and started to offer sustainable solutions that meet consumer expectations.
As a result, the company now officially operates one of the most advanced electric vehicle fast charging stations manufactured by DELTA Electronics. Their power reaches 120 kW, allowing vehicles to be charged quickly and conveniently. These charging stations have been carefully adapted to the essential needs – they can charge 4 electric cars at a time. 4 charging connectors are used for this purpose: 2 high-speed direct current with capacity up to 120 kW (DC), the rest – alternating current – up to 43 kW (AC). A standard plug socket can alco be used in the charging stations up to 22 kW.
The customers can use the stations with the mobile app, which starts charging with just a few clicks on the smartphone. The app is also used to pay for the services.
Up to 80% of battery charge can be reached in just 15 to 20 minutes at these charging stations. One station is in Klaipeda, near the Central Klaipeda Terminal, Baltijos pr. 40, the orher – in Druskininkai, near hotel Grand Spa Lietuva, Taikos g. 14.
